From Corporate Salons to Compassionate Care
Comb & Collar was founded to offer a boutique alternative to the corporate grooming industry. Owners Heidi and Reed Balamatowski envisioned a space where every animal is respected, handled gently, and never rushed. After years working in high-volume salons, Heidi set out to create a calmer, more personalized grooming experience where pets receive the time and attention they deserve. Their local roots run deep, with Reed volunteering as a firefighter in West St. Paul and their children attending local schools. The team's expertise includes certifications in canine behaviour and advanced grooming academies, allowing them to provide one-on-one appointments, back-door access for nervous pets, and breed-specific grooming for everything from Oodles to Great Pyrenees. What vaccinations are required for grooming or daycare?
Rabies is only required from grooming. Both are required for Daycare. Bordetella remains unchanged
Can I book a daycare assessment for my dog?
Yes, all new daycare dogs must complete a complimentary 30 to 40 minute Meet & Greet assessment at our Kapelus Dr location before joining group play.
Do you accept cats for grooming?
We are not currently accepting new cat clients. Existing cat clients may book by phone.
How does pricing work for grooming?
Pricing is based on your dog’s weight and coat type, ensuring fairness and transparency. Contact us for a personalized quote.
What makes your grooming process low-stress?
We use a one-on-one model, never kennel dogs unnecessarily, and use tools like Happy Hoodies and floor drying for noise-sensitive or anxious pets.
